well i guess it is kind of a story about "trusty rusty." i wish i could find the software to upload some pics. got my christmas lights and a wreath and two big plastic candycanes on the front bumper looks nice even the cops in my town like as long is they (the lights) don't blink and flash and sloglo. well anyways i found online a place to get bosch alternators for $90.00 reman of course still cheaper than all autoparts stores. soo yeah i am taking out the alt. one cold winters day and struggling with it in the driveway and i spilled my coffee, on the alt. one bolt to go the real long one on the bottom. you know the one i am talking about, its got the crimp nut on it. and there is not enough room with the fan there and the plastic shroud, is that how one spells that, schroud, loud, shcrowued, the turbo, the exhaust blah blah blah. i decide to remove the fan and the , schroud, shcrowued so's i can get my visegrips in there along w/a hammer to perform some persuasion, the damn dictionary will not open for me so you people are going to have to bear my horrible spelling till the end. i'm wailing away in the 16 nanometers i have to work with, nothing is happening! its unanimous time for some penciltration spray (w-d) 40 (forty) and a much needed trip inside for a frosty stout and some heat. one stout turned into 3, feeling loose now. back outside and its getting dark got this awesome flourecent jobbie, i'll never go back to incadescent droplights. hey the bolt is moving, don't even the hammer. like it was doing anything anyhow. got my visegrips on the hex head and i'm twisting back and forth clockwise then counterclockwise, it's coming out slowly but surely, then smash, right thru the radiator. defeat...
a few days later i was talking to my volvo connection and he is a very nice guy/knows i'm poor. gave me a radiator used of course and some hose clamps. the nice volvo galvinized ones.
well she's back together, no leaks, except for the ones, you know what i mean. just gottah do the exhaust manifold gasket and turn down my front rotors and should be set for the rest of the winter.
keep it under a hundred, jay.
