Turbo oil: good stuff or sales tactic? 200 1981

Hi all,
This message board is a great help, I did the overdrive solenoid electrical bypass (running through the safety mechanism on the transmission of course) It has been working well so far, and I've driven it from spearfish to salt lake city and am soon driving it to seattle for x-mas.
So, When I bought the car a few months ago and changed the ooil, the people in the shop recommended an oil specifically for cars with turbo, and I followeed her recommendation. I am about to change the oil again, and am wondering if an oil specifically designed for an engine with a turbo unit is appreciably different from a regular 10-w30? any input?
