so far so bad. . . 900

tehy are giving me their 93 940 with 199,500 miles. Free, very good condition ne rotors, new master cylinder, no rust straight provided I make it run and drive it away. problem started just 4 days ago.

symptoms: will start and run for 3- 5 seconds. during these 3-5 seconds, it runs almost smooth, just cold idle. and then dies. same if re-started, same if restared for 3rd time so on so forth.

1. checked fuse #12 for in tank pump : good
2. checked fuse #1 for fuel pump: good
3. checked fuel pump relay: good

4. stared at crank sensor for 10 seconds and carressed it. will replace it but suspect this is not the problem since it cranks and will run (idle ) for 3-5 secs. from all readings, it sounds that if the crank sensor is bad it will never start. true? I will replace it anyway.

5. fuel pump: I confirmed it to be regina (no capsule like coil, green injectors instead of yellow, no AMM, etc). is this running for 3-5 seconds and dying symptoms of bad pump?

can I do this if I am an above average do it yourselfer?

6. anything else I am missing?

andrew
