So she died on me tonight... 700

So it happened to me tonight. I was on campus, researching at the library. I come out and go to my car, a 1985 745 turbo with 153K miles. She starts right up, but after idling for maybe 30 secs, and then flat out dies. I go to start it back up, it turns over, sputters lightly and dies again. She'll crank like there is no tomorrow but won't turn over again. I checked the fuel pump fuses, they seem fine. Anything I can do to diagnose? I live in an apt w/o a garage and will be doing the work in the library parking lot with a basic set of tools. Should I maybe just have a local shop look at this?
