Follow-up on solid engine mounts 700

I posted a while back on some hydraulic style solid engine mounts I received, thanks to all who responded. Everything is now together and I have had a couple of weeks to road test; here are my impressions so far.
I installed some aftermarket engine mounts from FCP Groton in my 87 745t (automatic tranny), they are solid rather than hydraulic although the shape and construction mimics the originals down to the last detail. I had some reservations at the time, but after hearing from many of you who preferred the solid puck-style mounts I decided to give them a try and see what would be.
Well all I can say so far is I am thrilled with how things worked out; mind you my previous mounts were compressed like pancakes, so much so that the PO had cut away part of the bottom of the fan shroud to keep the fan from rubbing... The car is SO much smoother, both at idle and on the road, at idle there is no vibration at all laying your hand on the hood; it used to shake like a bowlfull of jello. The wicked shimmy I had experienced when starting off is completely gone, shifts are much smoother, and much less engine noise is transmitted through to the cabin. I had been afraid that these cheaper alternatives to the hydraulic mounts would be a big dissapointment but that has not been the case. If anyone else is considering a switch to solid mounts I strongly recommend these, they bolt right in with no change of brackets required.
I did do this refit in conjunction with a head gasket, tranny mount, belts and timing pulley, harmonic balancer, coolant tank and cap, splash pan and a new Dave Matthews CD, so I suppose not all of the improvements I have noticed are directly attributable to the engine mounts; nevertheless thanks to all who offered their time and advice, my brick is running stronger and smoother than ever.
