Power steering fluid -- questions for replacing it 200

I have read that I can just use a syringe to just suck out the fluid from the reservoir.

1) Will this really get all fluid out ?
2) If not, how to get the rest out ? Would refilling it and driving for a few days, and going through the syringe thing again and refilling be enough to at the rest of the fluid and have a clean fluid?
3) Volvo Owner's Manual calls for Dot 4 fluid. Any brand you recommand and that I can get at local auto store, such as Autozone, Pepboys and the like?

Thank you.
