Oil leak: Top rear area (valve cover) 200

Hello all,
Can anyone shed some light on what could be leaking in the top rear area (valve cover/head) on my B230F? (1990). I was getting a pretty strong oil stink coming in the car with the heater blower on and noticed a heavy coating of oil on the lower rear head and block (on the oil filter side). Thinking the valve cover gasket was the problem I replaced it and cleaned the area below hoping the rest would "burn off" after a few miles. No luck. I'm still getting the stink and the oil coating is coming back down there. Any other tips on what else could be leaking? The flame trap is clear, I'm not burning or losing oil otherwise. (uses about a 1/2 qt between changes (3000 miles) and the engine has 262,000 on it.) Maybe some other seal a the back of the head/cam? If there is, how hard would this be to replace? Thanks in advance.
