Successful 140 engine swaps? 140-160

My little brother had a good ‘72 142 and thought of putting in a Chevy 327 or 350 (I think same block size). He and a friend talked of doing it, but he is in Graduate School and on a budget- so he sold the car and bought a 79 242GT. May want to check out a book though, I'm not sure if it will help with the 140 series, but may help. I've also heard that some of the "good" Volvo transmissions and drive trains will be fine as long as you don't modify for too much horse power and torque. Chevy engines are ubiquitous and reliable, my Dad’s 350 has lasted for 32 years and still is good.

The guy with the book has Jaguar and Volvo swap experience:Volvo 200 series V-8 conversion manual.

Or try a good rebuilt B23. The blocks are notorious for durability.
I'm not an expert by any means- but maybe some thoughts.
