Got code 123 (ECT) from socket 2, but not 224 from socket 6 200

Today on the way to work, cruising at about 60 mph, the check engine light came on my 93 245. Lately, the idle has been a little rough and the car occasionally dies. I later pulled code 123 from socket 2, which refers to a bad engine coolant temperature sensor or its wiring. No problem - I can fix that. However, I notice that socket 6, which provides codes for the ignition system, didn't show anything. Why didn't socket 6 show the ignition system's code 224, which also refers to a bad engine coolant temperature sensor?
