Dead Cylinder - B21FT 200

84 245Ti... It has generally been getting worse for a while (lope/missing at idle due to uneven compression until it warms up). Today it has a dead-even miss in one cylinder at idle; starter races when it spins through the dead cylinder, indicating extremely low compression and probably not ignition or injector.

I intend to get a compression and leak - down test soon; suspect it will tell me that at least valve is bad.

For the Turbo experts: What can I expect at tear-down? Check/weld cracks, resurface the head and new valve seats to be sure. Can I expect that I will have to replace those pricey sodium filled exhaust valves?

Thanks

Robert
