Heavy Smoke with correct oil amount... 900 1993

Hello All!

Here is an interesting problem...

My wife's 940 turbo will blow very heavy blue gray smoke when the correct amount of oil is in the car. It will actually burn a quart of oil in about 20 miles, then once it is down about a quart, the smoke goes away. the engine is running very well, gets about 20 miles to the gallon around town, with no complaints, except the smoke. The car will pour out smoke to the point that it surrounds the car and the intersection, when idleing, the smoke will decrease when you accelerate (but not go away), and come right back when you idle.

There are no puddles under the car, and it is not the head gasket which was just replaced. It is not loosing coolant at all...

Could it be too much crankcase pressure? (firetrap, AMM, etc?)

Any suggestions would be great... THANKS!

Avi
