a friend of mine has a '95 318ti beemer. i've been driving it, and i won't talk about the uncertainty it caused in me as to my favorite brand of car... but this car has 265k miles. it has a problem which has been bothering the hell out of me: at 80mph it revs at around 5k (in 5th) . the clutch is strong, and 6 months ago it could do over 100 at 5k rpms. i just can't figure out what could be wrong with it barring some odd problem in the tranny... you shift into 4th at 80 and it revs even higher, so the gear isn't missing altogether... any help would be appreciated.
