TPS sensor and MPG? 700 1986

Hello! First of all, I look at the FAQ but I could not found something similar to the issues I got. I'am having a bad MPG number (under 17) and when driving the engine lost all it's power and I can get it back by puting the gas pedal to the metal or shifting to lower gears. By the way it's a 1986 740 wagon with the B230f engine and a automatic transmition. Sometime it's dosen't work and the engine stall, put it back in neutral and start it back and no problem for 2 more days, ½ hour of a week. But to day I wasn't able to start it back. I disconnect the TPS and it's OK now. It is possible that my TPS is faulty or it could be something opperate by the TPS that is faulty??? Cause I don't know really much about Volvo but I'am not sure a TPS can affect MPG so much... I change my IAC and it's seems to be OK, I adjust the TPS 2 mounth ago when I clean the flame trap and the TB. The fuel filter have also been change at the same time. The only thing that could be done it's a CO reading or adjustment. There is no difference if the car is hot or cold. I know this post is long but at least everything is there... Well I hope so! Thank in advance for your help, Marc!!!
