Turbo Problems 700 1989

Hi I am having a problem with my turbo. My car is running great and Idling at about 1000 and holds that quite well. It responds very well up to one atmosphere on my boost guage and when I move into boost at all It starts to choke and sputter and die.

When I got the car the waste gate arm was removed from the waste gate, and the waste gate arm is very hard to pull toward the rear of the car. I have checked and replaced ALL of my pressure hoses and the hoses that are part of the pressured air system seem to be in great shepe and all the clamps are on well. In responce to a recomendation from a import repair shop I just replaced all my plugs, wires, distributer and rotor. and my FPR seems to respond well and actively.

My friend and I think that my waste gate valve may be ruptured and blowing of the waste as I get to boost causing the dying.

Have any of you had this problem and if it is the waste gate valve How do I replace it?

Ps I have the Misubishi Turbo I cant quite remember which one I apologize. But if needed I will find out. Thank you
