Lights on, car stalls! 900

Hey guys!

Wondering if anybody could give me a little tip. When I pull into my garage I flash my high beams on to know when to stop so I don't hit my work bench. Occasionlly when I hit the high beams the car stalls, but, if I let them go immediately, the car starts up before it completely dies. When I'm not fast enough the car does die all the way. On the highway, also occasionally, when I'm doing around 70 and hit the turn signal to change lanes the car will miss at the time the blinker comes on. Is my alternator about to die? My 940 has the original one with 216k on it.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
