so far, soo bad!!! 900

1993 940 200,000 miles, well maintained engine, regina fuel system, will turn, sometimes idle for 5 seconds maybe more then just die.

1. swapped fuel relay with a working one from my 240, and used the 940 relay on my 240, both are working. any other relay I need to check?

2. checked both number 1 and 11 fuses, good? any other fuse I need to check?

3. put new crank sensor from FPC, eliminate this angle

4. cleaned PCV

5. disconnected the AMM and it would still run for a few mins and eventually die. looked into the AMM. did not see any platinum wire like my 240 AMM. just this little thicker wire with a white substance at the tip encased in a plastic protection. is this good?

6. checked spark, good.

7. filled gas tank

8. my final suspicions are:

a. main pump in tank
b. sock filter in tank is dirty
c. fuel filter is dirty, but where the hell is this? FPC sold me one exactly like my 240 but cant locate it in the 940.

9. I dont see any fault codes anywhere. where the heck do these fireflies show up? and if it is the fuel pump what code should it show?

10. would a bad cat converter show this symptoms?

11. would a plugged exhaust system show this symptoms?

12. would a bad oxygen sensor show this symptoms?

again , it turns fand runs for about 4-6 sec. and dies.

love andrew
