Hints for newbies--There are gonna be times when you have to work in the cold, with your fingers numb and your butt frozen to the concrete.
as you get the chance to pick them up, here are some tings that have made life easier for me in the past:
1. Big aluminum clamp-on lights, with infrared heater bulbs in them. Not very expensive; check your farm supply store. Clamps are rubberized, and big enough to clamp on the edges of the hood. You get enough light that it won't hurt to drape plastic sheeting down the sides from the hood to the fenders to break the blizzard.
2. Fingerless gloves, with rubber gloves underneath preserve both nerve endings and blood flow.
3. Heated rubber floormats. You can stand on them to keep your feet warm, lie on them if you're under the vehicle for a long time, or drape the car and use them to preheat the area
