Head Gasket Replacement - Additional Scope Of Work?!? 700 1990

'90 760 Turbo 192,000 miles

OK...I posted a week or so back about an apparent coolant leak at the head/block. I've just about talked myself into a DIY project here....

QUESTION:

While I have the head pulled for the gasket replacement, what else should I replace/repair?

NOTE: I recently (185,000) replaced the timing belt and acc. belts, all front seals and the harmonic balancer so that's done. Also, I know I have a leaking seal at the distributor so I guess that's no-brainer. What are some other things to look for while the head is pulled? Valve job? Should I replace the water pump? (never been replaced....)

Also, I know I have a rear main seal going as well. (Oil around the bell-housing) Can I realistically drop the tranny from below with the car on a set of stands?

Also, I know I have oil leaking across the seals on the turbo - rebuild here as well?

Whew?.....I may have answered my own questions......

I am a "mid-level" shade tree mechanic. Any info/tips/tricks/etc. is (as always) greatly appreciated. I hate dropping a bunch of $$$$$ when I know I can do it myself....it's more the time/convenience issue.....anyway, THANKS!
