Hi all,
I drive a 1982 244, ever since my dad bought a 1980 244 I have drooled over the dual round headlights that came on that car. Last year my dad was rear ended by a SUV (god's gift to the driving comunity) his car was totaled and he parked it in the back yard for parts. He stripped all the fuel and air deliver parts to try to make a 1981 244 he bought run smothly. When I came home from college for thanksgiving break my dad said we had to get rid of the parts cars in the back yard (well that was my moms decision but he delivered it) so I started stripping it of every thing I thought I would need. The first thing I took off was the dual round head lights and went right out front and switched them after they were all wired up bolted in and with the trtim rings in place I noticed some very intresting side affects. First of all the light in the gauge cluster where the high beams are stays dimly lit when the low beams are on. Also the high beams are dimily lit when the low beams are on. Finally when the high beams are on the low beams dim. If some one has attempted this conversion and succeeded if you could let me know. I have the wiring digram for he 80 but not the 82 if some one has the wiring digram and wouldnt mind scaning it for me maybe that would help. I am at a total loss with this I am usually pretty good with figuring out problems but I am stumped so any help will be greatly aprreciated.
thanks in advance
happy holidays
chuck
