diagnosing fuel pump/filter noise 200

Recently I have noticed , with the engine running, a very faint buzzing/
gurgling/ squealing noise coming from the fuel pump area. It is very faint and I can only hear it when I am outside the car . The last time I checked the pre-
pump works. With the engine off and the ignition switched to the second position I can hear the main pump prime and it sounds fine. Is this a problem that needs to be taken care of soon. The car runs fine with no acceleration
problems. Any comments would be appreciated . Thanks
