Strange timing on (in) a 960 900

this is a 2 part post.driving the other night in the rain with a cold front moving in i started to notice some snow mixed in and within 15 seconds the red light on the ambient temp flashed on and the temp displayed 36 degrees F.thats the timing part since the 960 has no distributor.while thinking of this i realized how neat the 960 is,there is nothing to adjust on this engine if everything is in order.the ECU's take care of it all.there is of course maintainence to still be done but after all that it's close the hood and drive,no more playing with the dist. to get it just right and other small thing that seem to bother you.even the transmission has it's own ECU and while accellerating the shifting is seamless, you can hardly feel it.i love this car.just my experience, dave
