'89 240 horn button removal question 200

I plan to swap steering wheels '89 - '79. I can see how to remove the '79, but I don't want to just yank the center piece of the '89 unless that's what you should do. The '79 is a 242 and I love it. It has manual steering w/ 4 speed and it cruises better than any other car I've ever owned. It's a blast to drive. I figure I can handle the smaller wheel without a problem.

Thanks to all who gave feedback on the idea saying it's not only ok but often preferred (using the older, larger) wheel.

I'm ready once I get the plan down for removing that center horn piece on the '89.
