Gasping for fuel? 700 1989

I am the proud owner of my first brick. I am excited about the history and rep that proceeds them; the first time I've ever been excited to have a car that has 145,000k on it. I flew to pick it up and drove it 2,000 miles home without any problems... except lack of power through the mountains. I went to get an oil change and immediately afterwards I noticed that when I would come to a stop it would bog down 2-3 times like it is going to die and then it's fine. I can drive to 30 minutes on the highway with good acceleration and smooth driving, but when I get off and have to stop at a traffic signal, it bogs down like it isn't getting any gas but after two or three dips in rpms it idles just fine. Any ideas? Fuel filter? O2 sensor?
