Clunking struts. Tighten the shaft nuts? 700 1988

It's great to be driving 'ol blue again. The new clutch just feels like oiled velvet.

Now it's back to the little things I had planned to get to before the clutch problem sidelined me.

Both front struts clunk a bit. It's not the radius rod bushings. With the hood open, I can hold the bushing under the strut shaft nut and washer and feel it click (clunk) up and down as I bounce on the fender. There's about 1mm play between the bushing and the strut mount.

Can this be adjusted out by tightening the top 24mm nut on the strut shaft? I'll have to hold the shaft and use an offset box end wrench it looks like.

Strut cartridges and shocks are on the short list for the car. Probably in the next two months.
