No, it won't fit the 1800 shifter, and there's no room in the 1800 shifter for the wires.

You can't use a 240 M41 cover and shifter, as it's shorter than the 1800 cover and won't extend back far enough for you to reach third gear comfortably (unless your arms are a lot longer than mine).

BTW, the 1800 shifters require you to lift up the entire stick to get it into reverse. The spring tension for this is adjustable under the knob.
