thank yous and stuff 200

those that posted to my requests for info about a tranny problem and a mysterious whine from back aft somewhere are hereby thanked. the tranny problem in my 86 240 wagon turned out to be a sticky downshift cable. thank christ i found an honorable tranny shop!! the whine was a drive shaft centre support bearing just like volvo guru don foster said it probably was. the shop was most curious about how the driveshaft problem was diagnosed and when i explained it was an online diagnosis they were quite sceptical and a bit of eye-rolling ensued. the end result was that the bearing was "pooched" and now with the new bearing my old brick is as quiet as bricks get! again, thanks to all who submitted their comments on my brick problems
