Dang! What a day.
I head of early this morning in the 244 and after driving for five or six minutes I notice that several times when I'm trying to accelerate the car starts sputtering. Oh well I think, it was cold last night and I didn't have any Heat in that tank of gas which is now almost completely gone.
After work I stop at the Chevron and fill up after tossing in a bottle of Heat. Then I proceed to head off toward home (30 miles) in an absolute blizzard.
It starts happening again about ten minutes into my drive. I'm thinking no biggy since it didn't stop me the last time. "I'll just check it out when I get home." The sputtering starts up again and this time it didn't stop until the car died and wouldn't restart. There I am stranded *on the dam* 5 miles from my home in the blowing snow.
After towing the car home I call my trusted mechanic (60 miles away) to see if he can help me find the trouble quick.
No blown fuses (still need to go back and clean up the contacts just in case)
Spark from the coil...yes
Spark from the distributer...yes checked at the first spark plug
Disconnected the air mass meter to rule out...still won't start
Pulled the hose off the fuel press regulator to confirm there was no gas in that hose... there wasn't and mech says that's good
Fuel pump...Can hear it clicking and humming after turning the ignition off
Mech says only other thing he can think of is if the computer isn't sending signal to the injectors. As soon as I track down my test light I'll know if that's the case.
