Light blubs: 1157, 2057, 3057 (all GE)what is the difference.

They all look the same, except for color.

I think all those numbers are accurate. The point is that there's a series of them, all ending in the #57. And all double filament bulbs, built the same.

I finally got all the wifes 740 brake lights working(used GE 1157). And that pesky brake lamp failure light finally went off. But now Im just curious what all those numbers mean.

I know theres some marketing going on. Id like to be able to get passed the gimmicks, so I can just get what i need.
