Electrical Collapse With New Stereo 700 1987

Happy New Year -

I was trying to install a CD player into my wife's 1987 740. I bought the new wiring harness to bypass the amplifier, etc. I followed the various wiring diagrams found on this forum and the County Radio web site. Everything is hooked up, except.. the stereo doesn't power on, the internal lights no longer come on (although if you try to turn them on the door chime dings - same if you activate the glove box light), and the dashboard clock stopped working. I took the stereo in to make sure it functions (it does), and double checked all the fuses (all good). I think I must have disconnected something inadvertantly, or created a short somewhere. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Chris
