strut problems 200

Based what I've read on changing tie rod ends it says to mark postion of tie rod before removing. It then says the difference between the left an right tie rods must not exceed 2mm, measured from the tie-rod end locknut to the wrench flats on the tie-rod. The bouncing on one side sounds like a problem. Allmost like the strut is not working. It seems unlikely to me that a spring would be that bad.
