Ignition timing waaay off 140-160 1974

I think maybe you should look for another distributor. The jerkiness
on acceleration MIGHT be a timing gear on the way out, but you should
be seeing some advance on acceleration, at least 10 or 15° (Unless you
are starting at a fairly high speed and the advance is already at maximum).
Have you now got the ignition timing set for approximately fastest idle speed?
That should have you pretty close to right.
