BOOST PROBLEMS? 700

Hi all

My 89 740 turbo has 208 000km on it I have owned it for around 5 to 6 months. I have fitted a aftermarket boost gauge and a turbo timer with a digital boost gauge (with peak boost memory settings).

I have noticed I am only getting around 4to5psi boost and that is all.

I have had the Catalytic Converter checked by a exhaust shop. I am told it is in operating order (It flows 40' hotter on the tailpipe side).

I have tried to adjust the boost back up to the factory setting of 7psi with the waste gate rod (two full turns to shorten the rod) the boost pressure didn't change at all.

Can anybody tell me what the problem is so I can fix it and get me some BOOST?

I have also replaced the vacuum hoses from the manifold to the CBV & the hose from the turbo body (intake side) to the waste gate with new vacuum hose

George
