shifter light access 900 1996

Dear Shaner,

Good p.m. and may this find you well. The console comes out easily.
(a) Remove two screws (Torx) located between the seat heater switches (or the seat heater switch hole covers) and the emergency brake
(b) open the lid of the console storage bin, and gently pry up the small panel in the bottom of the storage bin
(c) remove the two screws under the panel
(d) remove the ash tray by lifting the lever at the bottom of the tray
(e) lift the console gently and slowly
(f) disconnect the seat heater switches and the connector to the rear floor light at the back of the console
(g) remove the black plastic cover that surrounds the shift lever (it should come free, once the console has been unscrewed)
(h) remove the console.

Hope this helps.

Yours,

spook

p.s. the shifter light enable the gear selected to be seen at night
