The Old 940 vs 960 Debate---Again !!! 900

To All,
In my ongoing quest to find the perfect 1994 or 95 940 sedan with less than 100K miles, I am quickly discovering that they are hard if not impossible to find. Especially one in descent condition with good maintenance records. I haven't given up, but I am being lured to expand my search and look at 960s as well. The 1995 and beyond 960s are more plentiful, with lower mileage and some in very nice condition. From what I read on this board and hear from Volvo mechanics, stay away from the 960 and the iterference engine. Can they be that bad? Seems to me ALL newer European style cars are interference engines aren't they? BMWs, Mercedes, Volvo, etc. Should I exclude 960s from my search? As long as one is diligent about changing the timing belt on the 960 as well as other normal routine maintenance, what else is there to worry about the car?
Give me your thoughts!
