Changef air filter...boost guage not working right 700 1985

Hi All!

Changed the air filter on a 1985 740T today. Now the boost guage does not work properly. The needle sits just below the yellow arc and indicates boost to some degree, but will not return to the normal position below the yellow arc. I checked for leaks, but couldn't find any? Anyone know the answer to this one. I used a purolator filter (A34362) vice a volvo filter.
