Intermittent bulb failure light 700 1991

My bulb failure light, which so far has worked flawlessly, is telling me something I can't quite figure out. It goes on now and then, at first when I brake, then it stays on (when the headlights are on), then if I turn off the car and start it again it goes off, maybe. I have determined that when it is on, the right rear tail light is sometimes off (no lights on when headlights are on) or the brake light doesn't work (no intensification of the light when the brake pedal is depressed).

I am guessing loose ground in the right tail light (there was a loose ground there when I installed a new tail light last May, and I reconnected it, but it wasn't as tight as it might be).

Please don't tell me to put a piece of electrical tape over the indicator light!

Many thanks!
