Power Seat Stopped Working in 1996 Volvo 960 900

A friend of my teenage son was playing with the power seat controls Saturday when it stopped working. Car is a 1996 Volvo 960 with memory seats. I read something on All Data that Volvo seats have a safety feature where the power seat control unit goes into emergency stop mode if more than two buttons are pushed at once. How is the seat restored to normal operation after going into the emergency stop mode?
