1992 740 turbo question 700 1992

I test drove a 1992 740 turbo wagon today. Nice ride, nice turbo boost. But while I was inspecting under the hood I noticed an electrical connector going nowhere. It is the same type as connects to an injector. It's located under the intake manifold, under no. 2 intake and is wire tied to the main wiring harness. I could see the knock sensor and the two temp sensors (one for temp. gague and one for ECU and their respective electrical connectors). It's not long enough to reach anything unless you cut the cable tie. By the amount of road dirt I would say its been like this a long time. I started the car from dead cold and it ran great (about 30 degrees ambient out). Has anyone one seen this on their turbo?
