244 automatic tranny overdrive delay problem

try the relay which is behind the dash just to the left of the glove box. Remove the glove box and stich your hand in. Its a square relay about 2 3/4" long. Usually you can hear or feel the relay close when you operate the switch. If not tap it alittle. They are about $45.
