Is my math correct? 200 1984

What type of fuse do you use? I have the Buss glass fuses, which my dealer once told me were more sensitive than the plastic fuses that came with the car. I suppose I could put a plastic 8-amp fuse in there and if it blows, I must have something wrong with the heaters.

The heaters are OEM from I believe an '88 or '89 240 (I bought them on eBay). I realigned the wires on the plastic grids since the tape that originally held the wires had come off. I used a thick threaded-like twine to tie each individual wire to it's corresponding rib on the grid - a time consuming process but the wires are nice and neat and hopefully secure.

I tested the thermostats by putting them across an ohm-meter and putting the stats in the oven to make sure they shut off when they were supposed to. I also repaired the wire's female spade connectors that lead to the thermostats.

The one place that may be a problem is the wiring harness that came from the original 240 that links the two switches to the two sets of grids. But physically the harness looks to be in good shape with no wire insulation flaking off or anything like that. On the bench, I hooked the harness to the two switches and checked the four-prong male connector that leads to the heating grids. By comparing the color-coding of the wires in the harness to what the Bentley manual described in the heated seat wiring diagram for the '88 or '89 240, things seemed to check out. I took an ohm-meter and put it across each multicolored wire, one at a time, and the ground to do my testing. I didn't notice any shorts, but I'm not experienced enough with this wiring harness to say anything with confidence.

Is there another way to test the harness to see if there's a problem?

I'll put a plastic fuse in #4 to see if that blows. If so, I'll move it to #12. If that blows also, I'm assuming there's something funky.

Thanks for your help.
