Thanks to all that have given me advice so far- More or less working on this part-time!
Started with hard starting when cold, and a stumble/hesitation if depressing the gas pedal sharply. Changed the fuel filter first- no change. Moved on to the FI relay, which I had problems with before. Removed solder & re-soldered with new- still no change. Cleaned throttle body on engine- no change. Hit the brickboard for advice. New control Pressure Regulator, FI Relay & RPM sensor were the advice. Did all three, still no change, but a little better idle. Since I didn't remove the throttle body to clean it the 1st time, did that, along with removing the throttle position switch as in the FAQ. Put it all back together, won't start. Have the strong smell of gas, wants to catch but doesn't. Checked my coil wires as it was close quarters getting the RPM sensor in, but they are fine. I spent the last couple days going over what I did, and what's in all the web documentation. I believe I set the throttle position sw right(by ear), but didn't have the correct feeler gauges to do it per the book. Been reading about the bellows assembly being a problem, and the AMM, maybe the ignition booster, but figure the problem should have something to do with the throttle body/bellows/AMM since that was the last thing I touched. After supper, I'm going to go over the fuses/relays, and under engine connections. In taking off the throttle body and reinstalling it, what could I have done? Gasket was good, didn't bang the AMM around, and tightened up the bellows connections. 940's have harness problems like the 240's(1st Volvo other than a 240). Didn't have the gas odors before, but I guess it's not burning off. The only thing I can think of is disconnection the AMM and trying to start it, since I believe it can cause a no-start condition. Any suggestions/hints/shot-in-the-dark that I can follow?
