Engine block heater 200 1984

Like already adviced, get a new one, specific for your engine. Mine is a DEFA, 500W and very efficient. It also branches off to the coupe heater, it is very nice to come out to a warm and cozy car in the mornings. My former car had yet another branch to an electronic battery charger; whenever the car was connected to the mains the battery was maintained. My DEFA system came with this programmable timing device, tailor-made for the 240 dashboard (look under the small tach):
