Did '87 240 series have wiring harness issues? 200 1987

I recently picked up an '87 245 with high miles. The harness looks pretty new with no signs of crumbling. Were the '87s involved with the wiring harness debacle?

Also, my '87 has a Hall Effects Sensor on the distributor. What year was the crank position sensor implemented? I am thinking about parting out the car when it dies, what other model years would my harness fit?

Thanks!
