loss of power while turning left.....I remember reading about it, but forget what it was 200 1989

my girlfriend's '89 240DL the other day lost power while she was turning left. it picked back up again really quick though. It just happened once. I remember reading about this problem a while back, but I totally forget what the solution was. Vacuum leak? I'll check that...but man is it ever cold in Southern Ontario right now! Any help is greatly appreciated, as always. thanks,
Nate Gundy
