Small clock disassembly - Part II (information only) 200

Sorry to repost same topic but no one seems to dig very far back into old posts and I wanted to update y'all and to thank Art Benstein for the xlnt photos and procedure. Art's photos showed me that the inside surface of the clock case was already painted white or very light blue, so an improved (higher reflectance) coating would probably be of little help in improving lighting of the face. I've checked two clocks in my possession by using an accurate DMM and they both have the 1.2W bulbs. These are the standard bulbs for the cluster warning lights and direction indicator green arrows plus a few other places around the car. They can be had at any good auto parts place by looking for the green Sylvania bulb blister packs and getting the No. 74 "European" bulbs.

I guess I better go searching for the higher output bulbs mentioned by Jessie.

As an aside, I got some identical appearing mini-wedge bulbs at a NAPA place, where the guy pulled them from a boxful behind the counter. These seemed a bit dim, and checked on my DMM they used less amperage and calculated out at 1.0 watts. Doesn't sound like much but the brightness difference is quite noticeable. If your clock or other stuff is even dimmer than usual, someone may have put this bulb in there.
