Removing tilt knob 200

Folks,

I'm replacing my 90 245 DL's driver's seat with a donor driver's seat from a '93. I'm going to use the frame and foam from the 93 on my car. I took off the vinyl but had a somewhat hard time taking off the tilt knob. I think I butchered it as a matter of fact. I will have to replace the plastic knob from another seat.

How do you take one of these off? There is a plastic cap that covers the inner workings of the knob. Inside, there is a thin metal disc that fits over a spindle. How do you remove the disc without damaging it? The forum for 7xx said to rotate CCW, but that didn't seem to work.

Any suggestions? Much appreciated,

Steve
