Was it warm as A/C time, or cold as Heat time? A problem with the A/C is a build up of dust and mold on the evaporator surfaces. Some people are real alergic to some molds. There are products and Volvo has a method for cleaning it off the evaporator.

Also, I just installed a Volvo add-on that runs the blower for a 10 minute dry-out cycle about 90 minutes after the A/C is shut down if it has been on for more that a couple minutes.

However, your immeadiate problem is coolant so just file this info.
