Rear differential cover replacement 200

The rear diff cover on my '90 is leaking due to rust pinholes. I have a couple of questions:

1) What new parts should I have on hand when replacing the cover? A new gasket and cover of course, but I'm unsure about items related to the speedo impulse sender. Bentley is a little vague in this area.

2) The job itself looks as simple as unbolting the old, and replacing with the new... Am I missing anything? Is adjusting the sender with shims usually required? Again, the manual doesn't explain much.

3) Has anyone found a source for the cover and gasket itself besides the dealer? The junkyard is out of the question due to the extreme cold, and the fact that they're probably all near death from rust too.

This should be fun with the average temp in Boston being about 10 degrees for the next week.

Thank you.

-Simon
