97 960 idle racing, escape 900

I would get the manual for the fuel injection for your model. The one I have is for 960's up to 94. I looked at the section on the IAC and if yours is close to what is is in the manual I am looking at, then you might want to check the TP sensor. The TP(throttle position) sensor signals the CTP(closed throttle position) and then computes the WOT(wide open throttle) based on a given angle from the TCP. The ECM(engine control module) adjusts the IAC valve so the engine maintains the correct idle speed.

On an overrun with the throttle closed the ECM adjusts the IAC to the supply the engine with air to maintain the vacuum level.
