How are your reflectors? Is the silvering worn down? Easily fixed with a can of "chrome" spray paint.

Higher output bulbs may be available. Inquire at http://lighting.mbz.org

The previously suggested 3rd brake light is a good idea. Can be installed non-invasively, too.
